経団連の「採用選考に関する指針」は、2018年の新入社員採用について、広報活動が3月1日から、選考活動は6月1日からとしている。オフィス街には会社説明会に参加する学生のグループが目立ち、雑誌や新聞などでは就職人気企業ランキングの記事が花盛りだ。ここ数年は人手不足を背景として新卒者の採用は著しい売り手市場で、全体としてみれば求職者を企業の求人が大きく上回っており、企業側は採用に苦心している。とは言っても、就職できればどこでも良いというわけにはいかず、今後の発展が見込まれる上に安定性もあるという企業に人気が集中するので、学生の就職活動が大変であるということに変わりはない。
